Today was my first day on the job! It was surprisingly not that busy. The creative director wasn't there (because he was at a meeting today), but he will be tomorrow, so I can really get involved in creative work then. I learned all the boring stuff like answering phones, making coffee, mailing stuff, etc. But I also got to look at the creative brief and research on Branson, an account they are trying to get. I wrote about some of my experiences there, and then came up with some rough ideas for what word(s) encapsulate Branson to be used for creating ads. It was pretty awesome.
Whenever I was walking around downtown, I kept on thinking - now I've made the big time! I'm really just an intern, but walking around with other people all business-y made me feel like I'd arrived.... to the rest of my life. Weird. Also, downtown is super cool. The Arch is like next door to the building I work in and the Old Courthouse and Keiner Plaza are a block away - very swank. I just hope they hire me after 3 months.
That's amazing. I am so proud of you. :) You're such a swanky business girl now, I feel like I should act fancier around you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that the first day was awesome! YAY FOR THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP. :) I feel like you're so much more ahead than the rest of us right now--I need about half of your determination and professionalism. Forealz. Being around English majors for like 90% of my college career has not helped me in the professionalism department one bit. -lounging in jeans right now-
ReplyDeleteGood luck for the three month mark. You know we'll be cheering for you <3
